About Rational
Our process converts recovered waste materials from solid waste streams including municipal solid waste ("MSW") into high quality fuel. Our strategy is to produce "drop-in" fuels that require no costly modifications to either refining systems or engines or fuel distribution systems. Our model allows us to either contract directly with garbage haulers or work with municipalities for the delivery of waste to our production facility, and to sell our fuel through fuel wholesalers.
Using commercially proven technology, unique process integration and a localized business development model, we are designing waste to fuel production plants and plan to manage their construction and operate the facilities over time. We will generate revenue primarily from the sale of fuel. For those communities wishing to own their own facility however, we will provide design and construction management services and charge management and licensing fees on an ongoing basis for the operation a facility.
Our plant design is small scale and results in little environmental impact as compared to many other fuel production processes. Also, we use relatively small amounts of feedstock; therefore there are many hundreds of potential sites where we could locate a facility in North America.
Our primary focus is the conversion of waste into high quality fuels. Over time, we intend to create processes capable of converting a wide variety of other materials into a wide variety of products. We believe that we will be able to tailor our technology to convert waste materials such as waste wood, energy crops, agricultural residue, municipal sludge, agricultural sludge and algae oil into additional products, such as diesel, gasoline, dimethyl ether (DME), jet fuel, naphtha, propane, methanol or compounds that act as platform chemicals for fine chemical production such as ethylene.
