A Sustainable Business

Rational Energies is dedicated to the sustainable production of transportation fuels. We believe that to create enduring value in our company our business model must be economically, environmentally and socially sustainable. Our business model is economically sustainable because we use non-food based, low cost waste materials, recovered from garbage, to produce high value fuels. As a result, we do not depend upon government operating subsidies or mandates for the use of our product. Our model is ecologically sustainable because we have developed a production process that is itself, clean and energy efficient. Our process consumes very little water (less than a hose) from outside sources and generates minimal water discharge. In addition, our production process begins with the processing of agricultural or municipal solid waste to recapture raw materials that would otherwise go to landfills and converts those materials into fuel. It is socially sustainable because we use responsible feedstocks (raw materials) to produce fuel and offer an environmentally friendly use for garbage as an alternative to burning or land filling. The jobs we create will never be exported overseas.

In America, we depend on energy to sustain our economy and our way of life. That's OK. Using energy is a good thing. It's the type of energy we use that is causing problems at many levels. For example, importing oil deflates our economy while potentially enriching those who may be hostile to our national interests. Dependence on foreign oil is becoming intolerable. Global supplies of crude oil are declining while demand continues to grow. Growing demand is driving air pollution to levels that threaten our health and the health of future generations. It's time to rethink the way we create and use energy products. Let's not stop using energy. Let's change the chemistry behind the energy we use. Let's Re:Fuel.

Rational Energies is a team of people committed to building an enduring company around the notion of sustainable energy production. To begin with, we capture the energy stored in various forms of waste materials such as municipal solid waste (MSW) and convert that energy into useful forms of energy such as synthetic crude oil and clean diesel and gasoline.
